   I LOVE the idea of taking a polaroid or digital picture of the inside of a packed suitcase so you can list the items inside in case its lost. I’d take a picture of the outside, too, though because our suitcases look like everyone elses (black w/ silver trim). I think about adding a ribbon or something unique so we can tell which bag is ours. Any ideas?

   While visiting me for a few days on an extended lay-over, my father left a book with his return ticket and a free ticket at baggage claim.
   Luckily it was in the same place, un-touched, when we returned two hours later.

   I would suggest writing down the lost and found number for your destination and return airports, as well as the same number for the airline you are using.
   Depending on where you think you lost an item, the correct areas need to be contacted.

   We were lucky in that the book and contents were not stolen, but if the worst had happened we wouldn’t have heard back from the airport’s lost and found department until the next day because that had just closed.
