Babies and Snowsuits - Be Safe!

Keep Me Warm!

Today we’re looking at babies and snowsuits. You want to keep them warm and bundled - but know when ‘how bundled’ can be ‘too bundled’.

Remember the movie A Christmas Story when Ralphie’s little brother looked so adorable in that big, puffy snowsuit? Well, that was okay for him but not so good if you have a baby in an infant car seat. Those heavy snowsuits can compromise the safety of your car seat by interfering with the tightness of the straps.

Better to dress baby in nothing heavier than fleece and cover him with a blanket, a car seat boot, or a Bundle Me that will keep him nice and cozy. Save the snowsuit for sledding and walks in the park.

This is really important to understand. If the car seat can not function properly, you may be making the situation even worse! Blankets are definitely the way to go.
